Have we forgotten the existence of our body?

Have we forgotten the existence of our own body? Are we divorced from our body?

This is a very critical issue. Not a joke!

Only when we fell ill in bed, we realized the existence of the body. Only when we are for too long or too much torturing the body, the body hits back with pain and illnesses, only then we recognize the existence of the body.

Our two-day Huang Di Nei Jing (YEIC) training discusses the causes of illnesses 1) external causes, 2) internal causes, and 3) not internal nor external causes. One of them is our living habits, unconsciously forgetting the body!

Forgetting the body, not knowing the existence of the body, tormenting the body is worse than torturing the slave. At least you can see that the slave in front of you is suffering, but you are not aware of the existence of your body.

The body is alive, you forget him, torture him, and one day he will knock at your door and use the pain and disease to settle with you.

How do you forget the existence of the body? It is in our pursuit of ideals, business, career, work, hobbies, enjoy a good life, food, play.

There is nothing wrong with pursuing an ideal. There is nothing wrong with doing business. There is nothing wrong with doing work. There is nothing wrong with enjoying life.

The body only needs, during your busy process, giving him 2-3 minutes every half hour to acknowledge his existence.

How do you acknowledge the existence of the body?

In our two days YEIC training we introduced and discussed many small movements exercises.

The simplest little act is to pay attention to your breathing. Wow, suddenly we find that we were too busy just now, forgetting that our body is breathing. Enjoy breathing for 2-3 minutes.

There are many different little acts/movements to choose from. From the YEIC training, we understand the theories behind the small movements, such as “Qi”, “Qi mechanics”, “Meridians”, “Acupoints”, “Visceral organs”, “Yin and Yang”

Especially in busy schedule with stress, mood swing, emotions such as tension, worry, fear, and anger, we have a demonstration in the training class, how to calm down the negative emotions in just a few minutes.

These habits of small movements every half hour every day will be much more effective than the exercise, or Qigong you do once a week, or traveling abroad to beautiful scenic places every year.

With this good habit, our mind is inseparable from our body, our body is yin, and our attention to the body is yang. Both yin and yang are interdependent, and neither party can exist separately from the other side.

This discussion involves a few key concepts ..
“Yellow Emperor’s Internal Classics 黄帝内经”, “Qi”, “Meridian 经络”, “Acupoint 穴位”, “Emotional 五情”, “Five Gods 五神”, “Organs Function 脏腑功能”.

“Words in Chinese are texts from the book YEIC, 3000 years ago.”
