My Experience and Views
I
learned energy healing and meditation in March, 2007.
The Power of Meditation
Initially
I only expected meditation to help to reduce stress and calm our mind.
But energy healing and meditation experience taught me otherwise. Certain type of meditation
can be so powerful that it can help to heal practically all
illnesses and diseases. What is amazing is that, energy healing is a technique,
with Chakra opened by the Masters, that can be learned and practiced
by anyone, as long as one is committed and disciplined.
I
begin to realize many different meditation, health-exercises give rise
to different results and outcome. A simple meditation using soft music
may only help to de-stress a person for a moment. Another type of
meditation, i.e. concentration of the mind with bodily movement like
Tai Chi, Chi Dynamic, Yoga etc. with many years of practice may produce
amazing results in healing of self. There are testimonies of
miraculous recovery from sickness here and there in different
practices, e.g. Reiki, Faith Healing, Chi Kung, etc. Some practice is
only for self healing and not able to heal others.
Unfortunately
there is lack of research work with statistical evidence on the
success rate, frequency, speed and ease of use, and repeatability of
the successes for good comparison.
From
impression I get, energy healing by hands seems to offer promising results in speed,
higher success rate, ease of use for self and ability to heal others.
The Concept of Meditation & Energy Healing
After exposure through the training and making some comparative study, I see
similarities and differences of many different types of meditation towards healing and
creativity.
Simple example of meditation can be relaxing of mind by listening to soft
music. The mind cools and quiets down, the brain would not work too
hard. The effect can be short term, immediate but may not produce
profound change if a person has serious sickness.
Prayer can also be a form of meditation, when the person is in great peace
with himself or herself by connecting with God. Whereas prayer with
frequent demands, requests, say on materials things from God may not
be a quality meditation, as the mind is still working hard to get
things, and yet not satisfied.
Health exercise like Chi Kung, Yoga etc. can be another form of exercise as
mind power, i.e. concentration in focusing, is essential, with some
bodily movement involved. Usually these take long years of disciplined
practice.
In medical field, hypnotherapy is used to calm the mind to overcome pain and
suffering, to quit smoking etc. As it also uses the mind power, it
could also be another form of meditation, except it is administered by
the medical professionals.
When a high quality and degree of meditation result in almost complete stillness
of the mind, and the mind is no more jerking around or wondering on all sorts of thoughts, issues,
ideas ….. the body chemistry begins to work and adjust itself –
hence the healing process. In the East, the chemistry is called Chi and in
modern science, terms like energy, universal or cosmic energy are
used.
From my limited understanding of what I learned, the aim is to attain the complete
stillness of the mind and the ability to direct the energy to the
problems areas of our mind and body.
It is certainly a new field, with a lot of scientific research going on,
although there is no logical explanation forth coming yet. In the
meantime, the ancient wisdoms of different cultures, religions
continue to practice such act of healing, some are more effective than the
others.
End.
