Today we attended a seminar on the above -alternative perspective to psoriasis and eczema treatment.. Though the seminar was to promote a commercialized new herbal product, I find the logics and principles outlined interesting. And I wish to share with you all.

General theory on trigger to Psoriasis and Eczema

Our immune system goes hay-wire, instead of attacking foreign invaders, it can start attacking your own body, i.e. your skin, causing Psoriasis and Eczema

Strategy Used by Modern (Western) Medicine

The general strategy in all forms of treatments and medication is to SUPPRESS the immune system not to mis-behave – hence immunosuppressants are used, steroid or not, they are all used to suppress the immune system.

This is a symptomic treatment – patient not only have to live with it for life, there are other serious side effects, which can be worse than the skin disorder, as the immune system suppressed over time, can become useless in other mild form of attack like common cold.

Another class of treatment is Alternative medicine as per Chinese, Indian or German. Instead of suppressing the immune system, attention is focused on cleansing the blood in circulation. Cleane and detoxin the blood, Psoriasis and Eczema, may not go away completely, but the severity can be drastically reduced, e.g in size, spread and texture.

New approach now is to Boost the Immune System, and make sure it functions as it should be. In doing so, the new herbal product will initially cause more intensified Psoriasis and Eczema, when the immune system is still in the hay-wired stage, but in a cycle of 4 months, the Psoriasis and Eczema can be completely gone, or some patients needs 2nd or 3rd cycles if they have been
using too much immunosuppressants before. Clinical study show no relapse in 8-9 years.
