Enter a World of
Energy

My Energy Journey

Introduction

In my pursuit of health and happiness, an universal goal, I enter into a world of energy.

From taking care of diet - "what I eat", and exercise "what physical movement is best for my well being" for my physical health, I also learn and practice therapies that help in the cognitive, mental, emotional, physiological well being like using NLP, Solution Focus, ..(refer Mindset Coaching). in summary "the conscious thought processes" that affect our daily life.- From tangible physical body to less tangible stuff like "how thought affects our well being."

Now, a world of energy is the intangible, something beyond the conscious mind, something we are not aware of, the missing part of human life.

The following is a description of my discovery journey, my learning on the key concepts and principles.

Discovery - A Surprise!

With a simple quest to learn meditation to reduce stress, surprisingly, I discovered that certain type of meditation can produce enormous power of energy to heal oneself and heal others.

Such discovery only increases my curiosity and thirst to find out more about Energy Healing or Energy Medicine.

The following then is my series of discoveries and learning.

Healing Power in different cultures

There exist powerful healing practices in different cultures. Practices, in today modern world, either are considered miraculous (as modern medicine fail to produce such good results) or superstitious (something non-scientific, hence should be ignored and not taken seriously).

Practices can be "Qi" in Chinese, with associated concepts like Meridians, "light" in Christian with associated practice like prayers, "pran" or "prana" by East Indian yogis with associated mechanism like "chakra", "vis medicatrix naturae - nature's life force" during Hippocrates times, "mana" to the Kahunas, etc.

To a large extend, such practices are associated with rituals and religions. It is understandable, as practice exist in culture, which include rituals and religions. This again result in polarization : either people are drawn into such practices with rituals and religious languages, or mistrust, bias, rejection arise. We certainly experience and observe "religions divide people, rather than unite" in history and today world. - un unfortunate and sad human behavior, each religion holding on steadfastly to - "my belief is the whole truth, not others!"

How then to make distinction between the different layers of "truth" that can really benefit mankind?

Physical and Non-Physical, Tangible and Non-tangible

The concept of the two extreme opposites : physical and non-physical, tangible and non-tangible is an important starting point to see things holistically.

In today modern world and advanced technology, we are governed by sophistication of the mechanical parts that we believe make things whole. One part plus other parts give a summation of whole. Hence a human life is a human body of organs, tissues, muscle, brain, vessels, the chemistry, the ions, the atoms etc. etc. We deal with the physical and tangible, something we can see through microscopes, touch with physical sensation, hear with what we want or expect to hear, as agreed by the masses.

The masses are brought up by the same education system in science and technology, that deal with the physical. Hence the majority has no notion of non-physical like "Qi" "Light" "Prana" "Energy field" "love" "Kindness" "Cosmic force" "Spirituality".

Today medical doctors deal with only the physical; diagnose the sickness, dispense medicine (usually chemicals, another form of physical), carry out surgery (again on the physical) and the job is done to the patient. A super efficient way to treat sickness and suffering in masses, with or without complete recovery or solving the roots of the problems, is another matter!

There is no practice of "intangible"  "non-physical" "un-conditional love" or "kindness". Hence they are called doctors, not healers. (please read the following to see more and more differences on how to treat the non-physical).

Once we begin to accept the missing part of the formula, the non-physical and not just the physical, the intangible and not just the tangible, our horizon widens and we are more ready to receive and accept other dimensions of "truth".

The followings are some of my own experience, (first the Energy Healing training) findings (through internet, books, DVD, ...) on the power and work of the non-physical and intangible, many with good research and basic scientific evidence.

The Power of Meditation

Going through the one week training course in Energy Healing and meditation course, appreciating the power of meditation that can heal oneself and others, of all sickness and diseases, I realize that different types of meditation give rise to different results.

Some meditations are designed just for relaxation. others for development of spirituality, Yet others focus on health improvement.

This may explain why after ten plus years of certain Qi Gong practice, one gains better health, whereas another type of meditation to mobilize the universal energy produces good effects within days or weeks.

A Physicist practices the Intangible

Barbara Ann Brennan, is an author, a physicist with NASA and a healer. In her book, "Hands of Light: A Guide to Healing Through the Human Energy Field" I learn that, she as a scientist, brings forth a scientific approach to deal with the non-physical, in the field of bioenergetic healing, the intangible, She not only introduces the concepts of "Qi" "Energy field" "Chakra", she also shares instructions for anybody wanting to learn such techniques to work with energy for self and others.

In her training course, the syllabus covers the understanding of the physical (leveraging on today knowledge of the human body) and blending with the treatment of the non-physical like "energy field" "meridians" "unconditional love" "spiritual healing"

This learning is an eye-opening especially for those who do not feel comfortable with the non-physical practice associated with religious practices.

Even Children can do Healing by Hands

It is often a total shock, unbelievable experience to see Richard Gordon or Quantum-touch practitioners using hands, touching on certain parts of the body with crooked backbones, or bowed legs, and within 10, 20 or 30 mins. the bones realign themselves, and healed.

What is even amazing is that Richard Gordon has made the practice of healing process so simple that layman can just read the books and begin learning and practicing and produce good results in healing.

He often encourages children to learn healing too, and there are amazing results and testimonials (e.g. a 5 years old girl healed herself by hand-touch in school when she suffered an injury) at the forum of Quantum Touch website

When asked in an interview about similarities of Quantum Touch and Yoga, Richard Gordon replied that combination of certain techniques in Yoga produced the powerful effect of Quantum Touch, this suggested that redesign and blending of techniques are necessary to produce an intended outcome.

An Energetic, Smiling Teacher - Donna Eden

Watching Donna Eden's teaching, though not face to face, but in DVD, one can sense the aura and energy radiating from her. She demonstrates the testing of energy, simple techniques that anyone can follow, explains the principles of Energy Medicine, and guides learners how to practice energy healing.

From the above, I have the reinforced learning - learning to heal using energy is simple and anyone can do so. Emphasis is made on physical movement, besides meditation, for example, activating the accupoints at the meridians, with simple exercises.

Again there is no strict condition of teaching by qualified masters etc. She even offers home study program. Visit Donna Eden's website.

Sound Energy - Music Qigong

Sound is a form of energy. Leveraging on certain sounds, produced by certain types of musical instruments can produce powerful impact on health.

Master Wu's therapy consists of five pentotonic tones corresponding to five major organs of the body; liver heart, spleen, lungs and kidneys. Musical notes serve as an electrical medium stimulating the body's organs through acupuncture points, thereby enhancing blood circulation and balancing the body's energy. Sound waves also can be concentrated where a patient's qi is low. It is an ancient concept developed thousands of years ago.

"With musical qigong, the energy is in the music." Master Wu said. "It can go through your immune system, making the body more harmonious."

Visit Music QiGong website  for more information. It is worthwhile to spend some time to watch the video clips at http://www.w528.us/english /videos.htm

My Learning Approach

It is impractical to learn different techniques and systems for anyone. As Energy Healing is new to me, I find it useful to make a scan of various approaches used and either choose one or combination of techniques that suit me and my requirements.

My objectives are simple : to learn some effective techniques (in term of time and results) to do healing to myself and learn the skills to heal people also.

So far, in my daily one to two hour meditation practice, I combine meditation, with breathing and directing the energy flow. In my routine daily 40 min exercise, I combine breathing, body movement with accupoint massages, and I do energy healing to a patients at our healing center in Kajang, Selangor.

With that my learning journey continues. ........

End.
