Systems thinking is a powerful tool that can be
used to solve problems. The traditional problem solving tool is the
method of reductionalism, and it does not address the most crucial root
causes - mindsets, belief system and motives.
A holistic / wholesome thinking of an entire system is important so
practitioners of organization Improvement team see things differently
from various point of view systematically.
The application of systems thinking requires practices so that tools can
be applied correctly for the right context. I personally think that the
causal loop diagram method is interesting from organizational learning
point of view as it links variables to reflect shared responsibilities.
I’d love to try out the mental model / systems thinking / in my current
project & intervention. It’d be interesting to find out how successful
my recommendations will be to influence next level of management and
people in my department that will undergo the intervention. |

Life evolves through different activities beyond
our control. With the understanding of relationship or holistic
(wholesome), we can improve ourselves better be it with the community /
society, family and in the organization.
It is about changing mindset or mental model in relating to Systems
Thinking

In Systems Thinking: Mental model Action and
Results needed to be examined in its entirety.
Previously we have been trained to dismantle a problem in order to find
the solution. It’s a de-stability factor that produces more problems.

A different way of thinking & in approaching problems & issues. I am not
fully certain of my own application of systems thinking as yet but I am
intrigued to find out & read more about systems thinking after this
course especially in helping me to apply it, in my day to day life &
activities
Systems thinking / mental model will help me to approach the line staff,
particularly to help me to improve their change momentum.
In order for me to approach bigger company issues, I should be able to
master my self behavior using Systems Thinking. |

When we resolve a problem in one area it can result in a problem in
another area, hence the need to understand the total system.
To do systems thinking, we need to understand a person’s / group’s
mental model, because our mental state will have an effect on the
outcome / consequence of things.

It is interesting to learn the definition of system in depth. Really, i
thought it is simply a manual.
I learn that this “thinking” is applicable at any time and place i.e.
work, home, health |

I learn that there is a difference between a System and a Heap
I learn to mentally tell myself not to break things down into many parts
(reductionism)
I learn that parts have no meaning, it needs to interact for it to
become a system |

I learn that systems thinking could help me to empowering my coaching
techniques and facilitation skills
I learn how to see things in other perspectives
I could use some of the methods to facilitate a discussion.
I could also apply the tools to engage with my children on their
studies. |

The importance of knowing the mindset / mental model in a
communication to be able to do necessary shaping / shifting required to
coach staff for getter performance
The benefit of systems thinking in terms of creating a “whole” picture
of a system
How systems thinking shift your thinking to focus on system not on
parts. This is important as any usage to parts could affect system
differently than what profess by linear / logical thinking. |

A system consists of parts which are linked with each other which
creates a certain / specific results.
The solution today maybe the cause of a problem tomorrow
Results and causes are in a loop.
In order to see / identify a cause / problem in a system, we have step
out of the system (elephant story – we are all blind) |
