Must sportsman be more Healthy?

Datuk Lee Chong Wei, a Malaysia National shuttler, is suffering from early nose cancer. Everyone feels distressed and wishes him a speedy recovery.

Someone said: “I never thought that a top-ranking player with such a disciplined and healthy life would also develop cancer.”

Many people think that sportsmen should be healthy and how can they get sick?

Today we talk about sportsmen and health.

Early we have discussed 3000 years ago ancient sages proposes illnesses theory, the various factors like internal and external causes, today we only concentrate on a few variables.

Let’s start with simple logic. (I only bring out the concept of “Qi- blood” as per YEIC)

When athletes do intense exercise, breathing and heartbeat naturally accelerated. A lot of Qi-blood needs to be supplied to the heart and lungs. The body consumes a lot of “blood” and “qi”.

Intense exercise produces internal heat, body temperature increases, burning body fluids, turning into sweat. This also consumes body fluids in the body.

The “Qi, blood, and body fluid” consumed need adequate supplement .

(blood, and body fluid = Yin, Qi=Yang)

How to provide supplement?

It is necessary to have enough sleep and a proper diet.

Western nutrition theory only has the theory of protein, vitamin, etc. There is no clear guidance on how to supplement “qi, blood, and fluid” particularly.

The ancients experimented with a variety of different foods and analyzed their effects, such as what foods can produce blood, fluid, and Qi.

At the same time, it also needs to correspond to the individual’s body constitution. Therefore, different athletes should have different types of diets as supplements.

When in intense exercise, Qi and blood is specially supplied from the other organs to the heart and lungs. This also causes other visceral imbalance.

If other visceral features are inherently dysfunctional (because they are congenitally insufficient / acquired during growing stage), then there are double imbalances to manage.

At the same time, the ancient sages also said that emotions, personality also affects the function of the organs, such as “anger affects liver”, “fear affects kidneys”, and so on. Athletes, like everyone else, also have their own emotions to balance.

Besides, sweating consumes a lot of body fluid, which also causes the metabolism to lose balance and needs conditioning.

If the functions of the internal organs are seriously out of balance or dysfunctional, all sorts of diseases can occur, not necessarily just nose cancer!

Disorders of the internal organs need to be conditioned every day.

Conditioning also needs to understand the theory of “yin and yang, qi, and five elements of doctrine” to understand the changes in yin and yang of your body every day.

Then there is another factor, a habit that everyone takes for granted, after intense exercise, feeling thirsty, drink a lot of cold drinks!

Let’s analyze it again, the heat inside the body, and then a cold drink, what effect on the body?

A person who doesn’t know how to cook, burns the rice cooker very hot and pours cold water on the pot. Over time, will not the rice pot crack? This is called “Thermal Spalling”, crack as a result of expansion and contraction.

Internal heat, sweating, drinking cold drinks, as a habit, over time, will Not the blood vessel weakened or harmed? Can Qi-blood still flow smoothly?

The ancients have always stressed the importance of “cold and hot, that is, yin and yang.” Western medicine has no theory of cold and heat.

From the above discussion, do you realize that sportsmen need to learn more about Life Cultivation as per Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic in order to truly enjoy sports healthily?

Using Simple Logic to discuss Nervous System

Today we continue the discussion on “Nervous System”.

Western Medicine considers diseases like Parkinson, Autism, Alzheimer, Depression, … are due to Nervous System problems.

Hence their attention is focused on “Nervous System”.

When they consider certain illness is due to heart and blood circulation problem, they shift their attention on such.

Let’s discuss based on logic.

Heart, blood circulation problem surely needs supply of oxygen as per the lungs-functionalities. Agreed?

Surely they also need the liver to carry out its detox function, to ensure flesh supply of blood to the heart and for blood circulation. Agree?

Surely they require good digestive functions of the spleen and stomach so as to ensure transformed foods into nutrients can be supplied to the heart and blood circulation. Agree?

Surely they require good metabolism from the kidneys to ensure no toxin accumulation in the heart and blood. Agree?

From the above logics, all key organs functionalities are to be in good order so that heart and blood circulation are in good order too.

Likewise we can extend the same logics to the “nervous system”, which requires good organs functionalities.

Isn’t it strange that there is different medical treatments for Parkinson, Autism, Alzheimer, Depression, …although they all arise from “nervous system” problems!

We are no medical doctors, specialists, but we can follow the above logics, why can’t the western medical trained doctors cannot see such logics?

Western Medicine considers ancient YEIC has no logics, in its holistic approach, but it is precisely this logic that take good care of the key organs functionalities, good health ensured. 五脏六腑的基本功能!

Do you feel you need simple logics to govern your life or complicated and entangled theories?

This discussion involves a few key concepts which are elaborated in the video training courses.

You want good Nervous System or Consciousness?

Nervous System problem is often quoted by Western Medicine as the cause to a variety of diseases, like Parkinson’s, Autism, Alzheimer’s.

As per Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic (YEIC), there is no such concept nor term called “Nervous System”.

But 3000 years ago, ancient sages place great importance to “Consciousness” “Intelligence” “EQ”, which are hallmark of human being as compared with animals.

These Intangible system was also recognized as closely related to the tangible system like respiratory system, digestive system, excretion system, metabolism of the body.

For example, “Anger is associated with the function of Liver”, “怒伤肝”,Thinking power is associated with the function of Spleen “脾主思”,Will Power is associated with the function of Kidneys “肾藏志”,Joy and happiness are associated with the function of heart “心主喜”.

During my two day YEIC training class, I ask students : “Do you prefer to have nervous system or higher Consciousness system?”

Obviously they choose the later. After all animal also have nervous system.

Logics tell us that if we possess high Consciousness, surely it implies the nervous system is intact.

The the focus should be placed on manifesting the higher human Consciousness, involving intelligence, EQ and understand their relationship with the tangible body functionalities system, like blood circulation, breathing etc.

On these matter, ancient sages give us a lot of knowledge and information and therapies.

This discussion involves a few key concepts which are elaborated in the video training courses. “Anger affect Liver, 怒伤肝”,”Spleen has thinking functionalities 脾主思”,”Will Power is associated with Kidneys function 肾藏志”,”Joy and Happiness are felt in the Heart 心主喜”,。。。 。。。

Ancient sages used their brains or not?

Today we discuss whether ancient sages did use their brains or not?

In Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic (YEIC), Heart is compared to Fire, something hot. Kidneys are compared to Water, something cooling. Spleen is compared to Earth, something stable.

Western Medicine scholars surely laugh at such ridiculous comparison. They only focus on actual facts : how large is the heart, what colors, what cells etc.. They often consider YEIC not scientific.

Let me use simple logic to explain.

Isn’t heart continuously pumping bloods, and it is like machine in constant motion. Such motion produces heat, isn’t it? Hence ancients sages use Fire to represent Heart.

Logic also tells us, Kidneys function is concerning filtration of liquid into urine to be sent to the bladder. it is like irrigation system, Then liquid is a form of water, And Water is used to represent Kidneys.

Ancients sages also figured out how Fire (Heart) and Water (Kidneys) work hand in hand. They observe the nature, the sun is high up, hot. The earth and ocean are down below, cool.

In out body, heart is like the sun, high up and kidneys are like the ocean, down below.

The earth and ocean needs heat from the sun, otherwise the earth and ocean will be frozen into ice.

The sun cannot be too hot, otherwise the earth dry up and become deserts. Then the oceans, after heated by the sun, steam rises to form cloud to cool the upper sphere.

Then the high atmosphere is cool, rain forms when cold is encountered. Falling rain nourishes the earth.

This is the natural cycle and phenomena, which the ancients sages observe.

Sun heats the earth / ocean, the heated water vapour rises to cool the upper atmosphere, to shield the hot sun, and fall as rain to cool the earth.

From such observation, ancient sages conclude our body system behaves in similar fashion, and consider our internal body like an internal universe.

Then the heart heat must be able to heat the kidney water, and the heated steam rises to the heart to cool it down. The cycle repeats.

On conceptual level, Heart is Yang, and Kidney is Yin. Yin-Yang theory was formulated to explain phenomena. And such theory is used to explain deviation, like illnesses.

So what the ancient sages did was the following process : 1) Observation, 2) Making hypothesis, 3) Experiment, 4) Verification.

Now you tell me, didn’t ancients sages use their brain and use scientific methods?

If you think that ancient sages are indeed scientific in approach. Do you think the Western Medicine is not scientific?

Of course not! The key difference is ancient sages observe the nature and universe to understand how things work. Whereas Western Medicine, since the invention of microscope, they narrowly focus on what can be seen underneath the microscope, virus, bacteria etc. and use these to explain the body symptoms and illnesses. And they cut of emotions and person’s personality in their study of Western Medicine, consider them non-contributing factors.

Ancient sages preferred to understand things holistically.

Ancient sages did use their brain, ya?
