There are more and more such articles published that today scientists discover the functions or malfunctions of the brain is connected with the gut.
This implies brain related problems like Parkinson, dementia, autism, stokes are connected with the gut problems.
This connection and relationship are well understood 3000 years ago as per ancient wisdom “Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic”.
However today scientists using Western Medicine theory still operate with their fragmented and compartmentalized thinking, looking for micro solutions and not macro solutions.
For example, such statements “Recent research has found that bacteria in the gut can affect people’s mental state, leading to mood, cognition and behavioural problems.” lead scientists to zoom in research into the bacteria and elimination of the bacteria.
But that will not solve the fundamental problems.
Let me explain.
As per Google search :
Where is the gut found? The mouth is the first part of the gut (gastrointestinal tract). When we eat, food passes down the gullet (oesophagus), into the stomach, and then into the small intestine. The small intestine has three sections – the duodenum, jejunum and ileum.
The gut involves digestive system (mouth, stomach) and absorption system (small intestines).
Just based on the above limited information, ancient wisdom considered more than 2 variables (Stomach & Intestines) that create whatever may be the health problems.
Stomach is closely related to Spleen. Small Intestines are closely related to Heart.
As per 5-Elements Theory, Spleen / Stomach, Small Intestines / Heart are in constant interaction with Kidneys / Bladder, Lungs / Large Intestines, Liver / Gall-Bladder.
Only with all the organs functionalities are in good balance, you will not have so called bacteria in the guts.
Hence bacteria in the gut is the end result of how well you overall organs functioning. Hence it is not the cause.
What is this ancient wisdom Total Integrated Model that connects all parts of our body and mind?
This is a video on “The Brain is shrinking”. It seems like a big and new scientific discovery.
But more than 3000 years ago, ancient wisdom already knew, “Brain is Shrinking”.
The video continues to related other symptoms and diseases with brain shrinkages., e.g. dementia, depression, Parkinson, Stroke, celebral palsy, Huntington’s diseases, diabetes, etc.
And Vitamin B12, artificially made chemical substance is recommended for prevention. (Have you read reports how damaging are man-made artificial vitamins?)
Lack of exercise, improper diets, inadequate sleep are mentioned as contributing factors to brain shrinkage. As discussed in several other articles and video in this Blog, western scientists can only point out the above as general condition, they do not have integrated theory to explain exactly how lack of exercise, improper diets, inadequate sleep cause brain shrinkage.
Such is the incompleteness and inconsistency of today modern science.
What knowledge was held in the 3000 years ancient wisdom that the brain is shrinking, especially over aging?
Different terminology was used. Instead of Brain is shrinking, it is called Yin Deficiency.
Since Yin is deficiency, it causes imbalance to the Yin and Yang. And Yang now becomes excessives, which contribute to many of the symptoms and diseases mentioned above.
Now you, see, Yin Yang Theory is the overarching integrating theory, that can put all things under one roof.
For example, good sleep is Stillness, Yin is at rest. Insonia is the opposite, Yin is not at rest, and Yang is agitating. Can you figure out how these affect the brain? Agitated Yang implies thoughts, nervous system not in harmony.
Thousands of years, ancient wisdom offers us how to supplement the Yin, how to calm the Yang, through food therapy, qi exercises and many self-healing techniques.
All these to ensure gradual diminishing of Yin and more balanced Yin and Yang during aging. The brain will still shrink, but more gradually and gracefully.

The one with 7 years intensive attendance to various programs activities, today still have speech deficiency and socializing programs problems.
In our workshop, I asked : “If we have opportunity to meet again in 5 years time, what report you can give about the progress of your autistic child?
I emphasize the importance of constant evaluation and measurement of the child progress, on whatever program attended, and not leave the child to the specialist / center day after day, year after year.

Subsequent to the above, I continue to take such survey in other Ancient Wisdom introduction talk. The pattern of the result is similar to the above.
There is really very little significant improvement with years of Western Education/ Therapy for Special Need children. Perhaps that is why they attend my talk.
This is regretful and sorry state, after years of hardship on the part of the parents for their love of their special need child, yet without significant result. I know of some, after 20 years of OT etc program, having their children dependent on large dose of western medicine to control the tantrum, some violence.
Many parents, after 10 years，20 years hardship, feel totally discouraged to seek anymore solution, and accept the cruel reality. They are no longer active on social media looking for solution or discussing or sharing.
Hence in the social media, mostly are young parents, actively pursuing seeking solution full heartedly. I wonder after another 20 years, what will become of them? Will they also give up hope?
I sincerely offer them a new hope based on the ancient Chinese wisdom, Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classics.
To understand how autism came about, to use the ancient wisdom theory, we need to know the basic concepts and knowledge of the Yellow Emperor, i.e. Qi, Yin Yang, Zangfu Organs, Food Therapy, Qi activation, 5-elements etc.
Then we can initiate balancing treatments to the child on daily basis. Treatments must be holistic, not doing just one thing.
During my 2-day Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic (YEIC ancient wisdom) training, I asked the participants : “Observe carefully, what are the similarities in behaviors between autistic children and some old people with health problems?” With such focused question, after a while, participants pointed out the following similarities. They have 5-senses deficiencies, learning difficulties, hands and limbs not flexible, slow and not alert, fixed behaviors, repeated behaviors, stubborn, throw tantrum, temperamental ….. The parents with autistic children suddenly brightened their eyes, and began to wonder : “Why similar behavioral pattern problems having different therapies? Why I have to spend so much time, energy and money on Occupational Therapy, Sensory Integration, Speech Therapy, for my autistic child, whereas the older people with similar behavioral problems do not need to? Is there really a coherent theory to explain phenomena and with which to execute therapy?” This is indeed the current challenges of 200 years old Western Medicine, which does not have an integrated and holistic theoretical framework governing life and human body system, but so many fragmented and piecemeal theories and application, with no linkages with each other. 3000 years ago, what does YEIC theory says? “Kidneys system is Prenatal foundation.” (same as today concept like genes, DNA). And “Kidneys Store these Essence” (The essence of life) These notions or theories explain the behavioral patterns of autistic children and unhealthy older people. “Kidneys system is Prenatal foundation.” “Kidneys Store these Essence”, upon birth, healthy baby inherits the genes and DNA from healthy parents, called Essence “精”. When subsequent life span with good Life Cultivation practice, one can live till designed life span of 120 years old. Most autistic children do not have such quality Essence, which in our previous discussion, called “Prenatal deficiency”. Hence Kidneys-Qi is deficient. Kidney Qi governs one’s intelligence (learning ability). Weak Kidney Qi further weaken other organs like Liver (with tantrum, as Liver Stores Anger), etc etc. For a normal health person, over time, when he excessively uses his energy, emotions, activities, .. the Kidney Essence gets depleted very fast. And these result in many people even before older age, have learning difficulties, forgetfulness, bones weakened (all these are attribute of Kidneys Qi or energy), which later affect other organs like Liver ( with anger and stubbornness, etc.) With such a theory in hand, we can then focus our attention to do healing to the Kidney Qi / Essense to both autistic children and older people. Isn’t it important to have a logical and compelling Theory to act upon to get meaningful and effective application in therapy and treatment? If we operate on the wrong theory e.g. “Anything heavier than air cannot fly” then we can never able to invent and build airplane. So Lady and Gentleman, what theory do you use to operate on to manage your health, whether it is autism, cancers, Parkinson?
