It is encouraging to see more and more enrollments to the ancient wisdom video courses.
Many express amazement that there is not only interesting but also revolutionary ideas about health, sickness and diseases, which were advocated 3000 years ago.
With such amzement, many sign up to all the video courses concerning ancient wisdom, Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic.
However, I do realize some challenges faced by the learners.
This is because for centuries our minds are conditioned by the western science, western medicine and western nutrition theory to understand our body system in a particular manners, which is incomplete and hence not holistic.
Now the ancient wisdom presents a very different approach which can really address the fundamental issues with prevention and solutions.
But the subconscious mind, being heavily conditioned, cannot easily shift the paradigm after a few hours of the video courses. Hence practitioners will soon revert back to the old thinking pattern and not allowing the new practice to take roots.
For this reason, I encourage the learners to make good use of the video courses, i.e. these video courses are available for re-visit as many times as necessary.
Furthermore I organize a Telegram Discussion Group for members to share, discuss, more Q&A on their daily practices and more queries on the ancient theories.
By such reinforcement, paradigm shift can take roots and participant can enjoy the new practice towards well being.

I can see most people are influenced by the Western Nutrition Theory, that certain foods prevent certain illnesses, like cancers, high blood pressure etc.
This also implies they focus on “Nutritious” and “Prevention”, whereas Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic Food System is on improving the basic human body functionalities, which if well balanced, prevent illnesses.
So, “Can maize strands of fibers help reduce High Blood Pressure?”
My reply is : “It can help, but not a guarantee it will reduce High
Blood Pressure or other illnesses.”
The main functionality of maize strand of fibers is to ease “irrigation system” in the body, a part of metabolism, helping to remove toxic substances from the body.
By logic, we know that accumulated toxin in the body, trapped, can lead to all sorts of diseases and sicknesses.
But then just by improving the irrigation system of the body is no guarantee no more HIgh Blood Pressure or other illnesses.
It is the failure of one or several 5 key organs functionalities that give rise to illnesses, not just irrigation system alone.
For example, a good balanced Spleen and Stomach functionalities are important too.
However in your daily diet plan, do you consider how many times in a month you need using foods to improve your irrigation system in your body, together with the other diets that can help improving the organs functionalities?
The above is a more important focus of your diet.
For adults, who are currently healthy, may feel lazy to be use proper food system. But if you have autistic child or sick persons in the family, you cannot afford to be lazy lo.
Can Food “A” cure a disease and Food “B” prevent another disease?

Not long ago we talked about Medicine Diet, using maize strand of fibres as an example. One of the key properties of which is “Improve the body liquid metabolism.
Most people pay a lot of attention to heart issues, high blood pressure etc. but little on the effectiveness of metabolism.
“Improve the body liquid metabolism. “利水”? Why is it important?
Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic (YEIC) says : “Liquid metabolism is like body irrigation system, There must be good balance between too little or too much liquid. And the irrigation system must also ensure smooth and effective urination.”
On diet, with influence by the Western Nutrition Theory, we are overly focusing on supplement, nutritious quality of goods for health reason.
Even the notion of “health” is also a very fuzzy idea, rather abstract. It is like saying “I want happiness”. Some people consider plenty of money to eat what you like and to enjoy all the material things in life is Happiness.
There is no definite definition of health and what it entails.
Besides focusing on the what are nutritious foods, our minds are also occupied by conscious or unconscious worries about illnesses, high blood pressure, cancers. And these prompt people to buy all sort of supplements to prevent illnesses.
When the doctor says your sickness is related to metabolism problem, resulting in diabetes, uric acid, etc. We just accept it as a fact and inquire no further. And we just obey and take doctor’s prescribed medicines.
Here we have a case of maize strand of fibres that has the property to improve metabolism. Yet we are not aware of. Of course in Chinese food system, there are thousands of foods with documented food properties to ensure our body operates in optimal condition.
Can you make guesses, if our metabolism is out of order, what has it got to do with cancers, autism, Parkinson, diabetes?
We know that our body is 60-70% makes up of water. The water consists of many other types of liquids. The healthy part, ancient sages called :Pure Qi with minute particles), what today Western scientists called hormone, secretion, endocrine etc.
Then there is another portion called Impure Qi “浊气”, like toxin, uric acid, etc. The ancient sages classified impure Qi in Phlegm, Dampness, Blood stasis, etc. And these Impure Qi must not retain in the body too long, must be expelled.
The expulsion is done through functionalities like breathing out, sweating, urination and passing stools.
But today highly stressed lifestyle, excessive consumption of nutritious foods, much of these impure qi and substances get stuck in the body.
Over time, these affect the blood circulation and further make worse the metabolism process, they develop into tumors, cancers, affecting health and work performance etc.
We can now more and more appreciate how the ancient sages’ advice, like not just focus on supplement our body with more nutritious foods, but also consider the effectiveness of the expulsion of impure Qi and substances from our body. Isn’t this very are relevant and applicable in our modern daily life.
Only maize strands of fibre can help water metabolism? Surely not, there are many other foods. For example :
Winter melon; mustard; barley, papaya, red beans, coix seed, mung bean, kelp, mushroom. .
With good understanding of the YEIC theories on organs functionalities, able to correlate to Food System, we can practice Life Cultivation without incurring too much costs.

Often WhatsApp group members ask how to do treatments. Today we discuss the theories behind treatments. When we understand the theories and reasons behind, we can then creatively apply the necessary treatments.
We need to start from Yin and Yang theory again.
Yin and Yang is a large concept. But actually everyday we do experience it, but not aware of it.
For example, “feeling hot”, feel the sensation of heat in certain parts of the body, or mouth dry, sweat uncontrollably, … we then say it is Yin-Deficiency. There is lack of Yin and more Yang.
The other time, we feel cold. The hands and limbs sensations are cold, e.g. hands cold, running nose. This is Yang-deficiency.
Those with balanced Body Constituent, they feel reasonably cold or hot, but not extremes.
How do we use diets as treatments then?
We need to know the properties of foods in term of Yin and Yang.
YEIC says : “Yin is stillness and intrinsically cold and Yang is Excessive Movement and intrinsically heaty.
Hence animals with frequent movement, or in motions like dogs, who can run faster than chicken, then dog meat is more Yang in nature compared with chicken meat.
Pigs always just eat and sleep without exercise, it is then more Yin than dogs.
Fish in cold water needs to move constantly to create warmth for own blood circulation, then fish is Yang, and heaty in nature, in general.
For autistic children, due to influence of western nutrition theory, parents and teachers feed the children with more proteins for better growth, as based on the above discussion, if the meat consumed are more Yang in nature, children hyper activeness can get worsened.
Those living creatures with little motion, like crab, tortoise, are Yin in nature.
Most vegetable are intrinsically cold in nature. Vegetables from winter-countries are even colder.
Vegetable of Yang properties are garlic, pumpkin, ginger, leeks, onions, parsley, onions.
Fruits from tropical countries are mostly Yang, especially durian, also from temperate countries fruits ripen in summer like lychee, peach, longan, cherry, apricot, etc.
Yin types of fruits are watermelon, banana, kiwi, melon, grapefruit, orange, persimmon, melon, pear, mango, alfalfa, etc.。
Due to the influence from Western Nutrition theory, many parents want their children to take in more vegetables, consider them to be more nutritious.
Now with the injection of YEIC Food Theory, perhaps parents should do some re-thinking.
Cold types of foods are not suitable for autistic children who is withdrawn, avoid socializing. These kids should have more Yang types of foods.
